1st tech demo almost here
So all the learning ive been doing on the necro engine is coming to fruition in a nice cool tech demo. That could easily turn into a real game someday. THe question is: The tech demo is far from polished, so since im learning or putting to use what I should of learned, does that mean I polish the bits that aren't working? like the 2nd layer in the bg of paralax scrolling not scrolling right, etc..
Oh well, the demo has a ways to go cause I keep hitting things that stop me for a while caused by my own stupidity. But its getting there, out of an initial todo list of 12 things, im on number 6 and half way done with number 7. This demo could very well feature MOD based music. Though depending upon the level of polish I want to add, the todo list will grow exponetially.

Apex.
So things are lookin smooth, the port of our engine I am tighting and learning at the same time. There is now very few types of games we can't make on a near whim. This is defiantly pleasing news. I have to nail down some file loading stuff (but I have a work around in the mean time ready to go). Though using the engine for some more advance stuff like paralax and layering is coming clearer and clear. The original engine this was ported from was meant to be robust and generic, but it was after all made for a specific game in mind. So it turns out as it stands it is extreemly well geared twards making a Zelda like game. With some tweaking that im doing its becoming more and more geared twards handling a platformer.

Workin again
Well vacation is over and back to work. Im currently starting the development on our new level editor so the level designers can add objects directly to the level maps.
I am also working on becoming more familiar with the Necro engine. Ive coded up a prototype that im refining the controls on it to get it to work and feel like a tight platformer.
Then we will be working on the real stuff...
